Privacy Policy for VeOruga

Last updated: August 2026

VeOruga is a browser extension that captures screenshots of the currently active browser tab. This privacy policy explains what data the extension does and does not access.

Data Collection
VeOruga does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, browsing history, or page content. All screenshot capture and processing happens locally, on the user's device.

Permissions

  • activeTab: Used only to capture the visible content of the tab the user actively selects by clicking the extension icon. No access is granted outside of this direct user action.
  • scripting: Used only to inject the minimal code needed to render a selection overlay and/or capture the full page, triggered solely by user action within the active tab.
  • downloads (if applicable): Used only to save the captured screenshot image to the user's device.
  • storage (if applicable): Used only to store local preferences (e.g. default capture format) on the user's own device. This data never leaves the device and is not synced or transmitted.

Third-Party Sharing
VeOruga does not make any network requests, does not use analytics or tracking services, and does not share any data with third parties, because no data is collected in the first place.

Data Retention
Screenshots are saved directly to the user's device or clipboard and are not retained, cached, or stored by the extension itself.
